This band began with a meting of minds - “Rob & Dave” wrote all these well thought and crafted songs at home. Next came the additional musicians to give it new dimensions. Thus making The Resisitance.
With a number of accolades already on their belt (Pick of the Week on Phantom FM, Pick of the Fortnight in HotpressMagazine and Numerous radio support Nationwide), the band have just completed their debut album ( Bag of Bones).
The Resistance; comprised of Rob Mc Donnell, David Patterson, Eanan Patterson, Rob Allen and Diarmuid Breathnach, play a collection of instruments which make their way onto the record (double bass, guitar, violin, keys, electronica, and glockenspiel. There’s even a salt cellar in there somewhere!).
Show me a World to Love is their first Single, released on St. Valentine’s day (Feb 14th 2009). They also embark on a nationwide tour that will see additional dates added. They have a keen following and aim at reaching every part of Ireland this year. They have supported the likes of Cathy Davey recently and we will see more supports like these popping up in the months ahead. They have a list of live radio sessions booked in from RTE radio to the likes of WLRFM & KCLRFM and right around the Nation. So tune in your radio to your favourite station. You can try to ‘resist’ the temptation to listen to their music but Adam & Eve wouldn’t approve of that now would they??!
